Diane Bisbee Award
Parent volunteers are the key to the success of our team. A summer swim team requires a large number of volunteers to run smoothly. It takes a minimum of 42 deck officials to run a meet, and many more to run and support the social and fundraising activities. The “Diane Bisbee Volunteer of the Year” award is voted on by the parents and awarded at the team banquet.
Diane Bisbee was a former parent on this team that had her hands in just about every job. She ran apparel, awards, winter swim, clerk of course and a number of other tasks. She passed away in 2012 from colon cancer. We honor her spirit and memory every year with a perpetual plaque to one of our dedicated volunteers.

The following inscription is written on the plaque.
Volunteer: Someone willing to work on behalf of others without the expectation of pay or other tangible gain. No one epitomized this definition more than Diane Bisbee. Her willingness and enthusiasm to accept any and every volunteer opportunity presented to her amazed her friends and family, and inspired everyone to live up to her example.
