Team areas

Teams areas will be marked on the grass pipeline. We will provide garbage bags for each area. Remind swimmers to pick up their trash.

Swimmers should bring chairs. Bug spray may also be helpful.

The playground will be marked with caution tape. Please ask your swimmers not to play on the equipment during the meet for safety.

We will have a photo area near the team areas. The meet theme is “Red, White, and Blue”. Take lots of pictures!

We will have concessions.

Parking

Please please please try not to park in our lot for this meet. There are several good options where you can park nearby and walk to the pool. Dranesville Elementary is one option, just be careful given the on-going construction. Wherever you park, please park legally and do not block driveways or mailboxes.

Our role as hosts

Monday evening B meets, including the IM Carnival, are developmental meets. They are intentionally not scored and there are many 'winners', including kids who swim personal bests, kids who try a new stroke, and kids who make a new friend. We want every swimmer who attends on Monday to feel good about their effort and proud that they can swim an IM. Please remind your swimmers to be supportive of their fellow Hurricanes and of the visiting teams. If you notice or see anything that is not in the spirit of good sportsmanship please let one of your reps know or a coach  know. We also have team area parents who can assist. As parents we also have a role, some pools just feel friendlier and I hope we can be one of those.

Please reach out if you have any questions. A diagram of the pool set up is attached. Meet sheets are also attached. If you know your swimmer will not be at the meet please reply to this email so that we can write up a scratch sheet prior to the meet.
