Saturday Round Up

Team:

A little while ago the top times report was released. You can now get an idea of how your little swimmer is doing. Remember it is about how much time they drop from their initial time today, not about how high they are seeded. Don’t forget to RSVP for the blue and white meet on Monday. The times in the blue and white meet will be included on an undated top times report.. The updated top times report will go out to the team on Tuesday. The meet sheet against Vienna Aquatic Club, (VAC), will be made on Wednesday night and emailed out to the team on Thursday. Please indicate your status for the meet in swimtopia by monday…..otherwise my cousin Tony, in the form of Bob Yost will be paying you a visit.

Round up for the today:

Things we did well as a team

  • Pool set up, there a lot of new people on the team and it was still great
  • Pool take down, fast and smooth, pool was handed off at 11:30am
  • Cheering for teammates

Things that swimmers need to do better as a team

  • Sunscreen, I saw too many sunburned swimmers this morning
  • Kids lounging in the sun: a number of our little kids were sunning themselves like they were sea lions on the San Francisco wharf. This is extremely detrimental to fast swimming
  • Kids should come with a water bottle
  • Remember, once the ref blows the three whistles, we need quiet for the start

Things that volunteers need to improve on.

  • Once the pool deck is put back we need to move to the clubhouse. (I forgot to do this today too)
  • The chairs and tables in the clubhouse are going to need to be reset.
  • We need to vacuum the clubhouse
  • If we spill on the kitchen floor we need to clean, ditto for countertops.
  • The HOA does an inspection after each home meet. The sooner the clubhouse is returned to its original condition the sooner that Greg and Susan can join us at Santini's
  • Concessions clean up: no dumping of liquid or ice into landscaping or flowerbeds. Identify an out of the way place where volunteers can dump ice against the curb where it will melt quickly but no will slips on it in the short term
  • Any cardboard boxes going to the dumpster must first be broken down so they take up less room.

Awesome work by everyone today, see you all Monday night.

Take Care,

Neal and Marc
