HB vs LHP
Hello Swim Families!
In preparation for our upcoming home meet against Little Hunting Park(LHP), please see below for all relevant details.
Volunteers: We still need several more families to assist with the meet. It is down to just Concessions, Data jobs, a S&T and one more in vaunted set up crew. We can’t run the meet without your help. Please sign up today.
Per NVSL standards, all officials should wear a white top and navy bottoms.
THE NVSL IS COMING!
Our very talented ref, Jonathan Saunders, is being observed for a patch tomorrow. Which means the NVSL is sending a veteran official to see how Hiddenbrook runs a meet. Not only does Jonathan get observed, but our whole pool is given a score. Sometimes the NVSL tells us to make some improvements. Regardless, let us all be on our best behavior tomorrow.
Dawn O’Brien will be our NVSL observer, she was one of the deck officials at All Star Relay Carnival the other night. She is a patched NVSL Referee, and has been Refereeing or Stroke and Turning for the past 20 years.
Arrival times:
1. The meet begins at 9am. Hiddenbrook will warm up first from 8.00 to 8.20am. LHP warm-ups are from 8.25 to 8.45am. Please make sure your swimmer arrives 20 minutes prior to warm-ups, 7.40 am, so they are ready to go.
2. Officials (Ref, Starter, Stroke and Turn judges, Timers, Head Timer, Clerks of Course) should arrive on deck at no later than 8:15 for briefings. Swim Marshals, please arrive prior to 8am, as all Marshals must be in place prior to our team warm-up.
Parking: Our lot should accommodate all families, however, if you park on the street, please do NOT block driveways or mailboxes, as you will be ticketed or towed.
Team Areas:
Please note the Hiddenbrook’s team area is located in the picnic area under the large blue funbrella.
- There are picnic tables for swimmers to put their belongings on but many swimmers bring foldable chairs to put their things on too.
- Please bring goggles, sunscreen, swim cap, towel, bathing suit, bottle of water, snacks, enthusiasm, and the other normal necessities of a meet.
Return to Team Area:
Once swimmers have completed their races, they will be escorted by marshals back to the team areas along the deck of the pool, please make sure they return to the team areas and do not leave the facility, go to the playground, or hang out on the bleachers.
Other items to note:
- We provide complimentary water to all meet officials (timers, stroke and turns, ref, starter, marshals, team reps, clerk of course, announcer, etc.)
- The team will be going to Santini’s again after the meet.(Please stay after and help put the pool back together before you depart.) Make sure to order your food ahead of time. They are kicking back 10% of the sales to the team.
- Make sure your swimmers get plenty of rest and arrive Saturday ready to swim fast. This meet looks to be very close. And we are trying to get revenge for last year’s meltdown in the relays against LHP
