Gold Caps - Strokes already earned (applies to 10u only)

Sorry to spam the entire team - the message is specifically for 10U swimmers - all others feel free to delete!

What is a Gold Cap?

This is a special award given to our younger swimmers who bravely attempt (and succeed) at swimming every possible event available to them! To earn the Gold Cap as an 8U a swimmer must legally swim each individual stroke (free, back, breast, fly) in a meet. As a 9-10 swimmers can earn the Gold Cap by swimming all four individual strokes plus an IM. Time trials swims will not count toward the Gold Cap award.

As we near the end of the season many young swimmers may be wondering "what do I still need to get the Gold Cap" so we have put together a special version of our Top Times report. This version only has our 10U swimmers listed and does not include Time Trials in the results. If your swimmer has a time listed in each of the required events then they will earn the cap at Banquet.

All of that being said...when entering your swimmers events for the last B meet on Monday...please only enter them in an event if you are confident they can swim it legally. We know swimmers really want to earn the cap but entering non legal swimmers in an event creates extra DQs which makes the meet run much longer. It also means they won't get a ribbon for the swim as ribbons are not generated for DQs. Set them up for success by entering them in events you know they can be successful in.

As always, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
