Hiddenbrook vs Virginia Hills

Hiddenbrook Parents:

Welcome to the Virginia Hills swim meet.

Location:

6500 Virginia Hills Pool Dr.

Alexandria, VA 22301

Near Lee District Rec Center and Edison HS

It is 21-23 miles depending on where you live

Our warm up time is at 8:20, You should plan on the drive taking 45 minutes plus a 15 minute cushion. I would leave Herndon no later than 7:20.

Parking: Virginia Hills says they should have enough parking spaces for our entire team, if not, please do to block mailboxes and driveways.

Special:

The Virginia Hills Ref is being observed by the NVSL during this week.  We will wish them good luck on trying to get patched

Seating:

Virginia Hills has a bit of an unusual set up to their pool. They are a 25 meter facility, but they are not a typical Z or L. Hiddenbrook is a Z shape, if anyone is asking.

Please look at the attached diagram. Spectators sit on a grassy hill overlooking the length of the pool. VH will provide some seating, but you are welcome to bring camping chairs too.

We are bringing our team canopies and swimmers should bring chairs too.

Concessions:

Virginia Hills informs me that their concessions take cards, cash, Apple Pay, Google Pay. The menu will be Chick fil A breakfast sandwiches (limited quantity), donuts, bagels and cream cheese, coffee, snacks, cold drinks, frozen treats, and pizza.

They also have a food truck called Captain Cookie and the Milkman that will be open for business in their parking lot starting at 11 AM. (I have been informed by our head coach, Jon Radow, that any HB swimmer that partakes in the Captain, before their races have been completed, will be subject to a human sacrifice)

After Party: The team is meeting at Mission BBQ in the clocktower shopping center. Each swimmer will get a complimentary dessert! Special thanks to Jenn King for setting this up.

2403B Centreville Road

There is no reserved seating. If the restaurant can’t hold all of us, there is a grassy strip under trees where we can sit outside. Those camping chairs you brought to the meet, might get double duty.

Thanks,

Neal
